Abortion is a good example. From a human point of view it is regarded as liberal to extend the choice of whether to keep a child or abort it to the woman herself. At first glance this seems logical, but how does this issue look under the rules of Christian Faith? Actually here the law is very clear. "Thou shalt not kill". There is no possible interpretation to this other than it is forbidden to kill any human being. Nobody has the right to say that an embryo of 1 or 2 months has no rights under the law. It is my firm belief that the soul enters the embryo at the point of conception. And the combination Body / Soul constitutes a human being no matter how we turn the issue. Jeremiah 1:5 "Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thy camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee"
The issue of abortion raises many questions that often remain unanswered. I will try to address a few angles, for instance the Rape situation. Common belief states that a woman should at least have the right to abort if she was raped and therefore forced into conception. Another angle is hardship. People often seem to have the opinion that it would be better for the child not to be born at all than to have to face the social and economical condition of its family.
