Here the Christian side of the story:
We are supposed to love all people no matter how different they might be. Color, beliefs, sexual preferences and whatever else makes one person different from another should not play an active role in how we treat people and how we feel towards them. No matter how much we object to certain conditions, it is not our right to judge others. God reserves this right for Himself. The New Testament tells us clearly that as soon as we accept Jesus in our heart and truly believe that he has died for our sins, we do not live under the law ( of God ) anymore but rather under Grace. Of course that also applies to homosexuals. But we must consider that living under Grace does not give us the right to live a life in sin. Although we will not be judged for them anymore, we must still try the best we can to abide to the law.
If you are homosexual and you want to change, I can imagine that you have a hard road in front of you. Some people might have been born this way and others have over time changed their sexual preference. Is it reasonable to think that such an intimate and deeply rooted part of one's personality can be changed?
(I Cor. 10:13) "There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way of escape, that ye may be able to bear it."
As hard and hopeless as it might seem, I am convinced that God has provided us with a solution for each and every one of our problems, including homosexuality. If Jesus can heal the sick and lift the dead out of their graves, He can surely turn your heart around and help you to change your ways no matter how hopeless you think your affliction is. Sincere prayers and a desire to change is the best approach. With God's help you can achieve anything that your heart desires. This has been the promise of our Lord.
Surely there are countless issues that I could also address. If you have any questions or any topics that you are interested in, please let me know and I will try my best to answer them.
Faithfully Yours,
Andre Rosinski
